The Used’s 4th CD “Lies for the Liars,” has been a much anticipated CD since the early release of the song “The Bird and the Worm.” As fans found out on May 22; it was much worth the wait. The first song, released on May 14, had already climbed the charts to number 11 by May 30. However, it’s far from the only good song on the CD.
The CD offers an extensive mix of styles. From slow songs to even a few songs with slight screaming, there is something for everyone. One of the slower songs, “Smother Me,” is a love song that’s sure to stop hearts. Another slow, enjoyable song on the CD is “Earthquake.”
Not to worry though, slow love songs aren’t the only kind of songs that can be found on the CD. Songs like “Wake the Dead,” “The Bird and the Worm” and “Liar Liar” are performed for listeners who enjoy the slightly faster-paced song.
The CD also offers a few songs that are sure to surprise, but still please all fans. Songs such as “Find a Way” and “The Ripper” may not sound like The Used fans are used to, but there should be few complaints.
For fans who enjoyed the old style of The Used, they should have little concern as well. Songs like “Paralyzed” and “With me Tonight” are sure to remind listeners of the old The Used material they have grown to know and love.
The CD has already made it to the number 47 album on the charts and continues to climb and not without reason. This CD offers a variety of different styles for practically every listener and is certainly a CD every music fan should listen to, if not own.
