Falcons fall to Central Michigan

Dan LeFevour rushed for 128 yards and Antonio Brown had two touchdowns for Central Michigan, leading the Chippewas to a 24-10 win.

CMU wasted no time getting on the board as Brown scored on a 4-yard run four minutes into the game.

But the Falcons recovered early in the second quarter after Freddie Barnes gained more than 70 yards in two plays en route to a a 24-yard touchdown. Barnes finished with 14 receptions for 172 yards, increasing his season stats to 99 catches for 1,054 yards and nine touchdowns. He also broke the school record for career receptions, which was 232.

The Falcons played a very complete first half, allowing 17 points and holding the Chippewas to 207 total yards, but the offense’s mistakes overshadowed those good numbers.

Tyler Sheehan threw a costly interception in the red zone in the second quarter, and the offense was shut out in the second half, including a Chris Wright fumble on the CMU 7-yard line in the fourth quarter. The Falcons were driving at the end of the game as well but could not convert on a 4th and 10 from the CMU 18.

BG is off this weekend and will travel to Buffalo next Tuesday at 8 p.m.’
