BGSU won Blood Bowl VIII, with 3.6 percent of the student body donating blood compared to the University of Toledo’s 2.3 percent during the eighth annual competition in November.
The American Red Cross organized the blood drive that drew 1,075 participants between the two campuses, with donations that could save up to 3,225 lives.
Each year, the winner is chosen by dividing the number of units collected by each school’s full time enrollment.
With the win, BGSU was awarded a trophy that travels between the two schools annually.
