Coronavirus cases at BGSU: weekly update

Chief Health Officer Ben Batey has announced 61 new positive coronavirus cases between Sept. 9 to Sept. 15. Eighty-five percent of this week’s cases have been reported from students living off campus.

Since Aug. 20, there have been 161 cumulative cases at BGSU — all cases were reported from students and 0 cases were reported from faculty and staff.

Currently, 5 students are isolating at Falcon’s Landing, while 10 students are quarantining in residence halls.

In addition, the university has conducted a total of 502 tests from March and are still at a 1.6% overall positivity rate.

Furthermore, BGSU has started randomized surveillance testing and will publish the latest results on Wednesday.
