The Undergraduate Student Government unanimously passed a resolution regarding the Presidents’ Climate Commitment at its meeting Monday night.
The Presidents’ Climate Commitment is a way for universities to “encourage research and action towards climate neutrality concerns,” according to the resolution.
By signing the pledge for the commitment, the University will begin to “create an action plan to take steps towards achieving climate neutrality.”
The resolution states USG’s endorsement of the undergraduate student effort to have President Mary Ellen Mazey sign the pledge.
A resolution was also introduced concerning Bowling Green Mayor John Quinn. The resolution was read for the first time at the meeting and will be voted on at the next USG meeting. Graduate Student Senate already passed a similar resolution, and the purpose of the resolution is to acknowledge Quinn for his “years of dedication and hard work on behalf of Bowling Green and BGSU,” according to the resolution.
