Time sure is flying by.
We are already into week three of the college volleyball season, and as the matches continue to add up, we are starting to see some habits forming in rotations, formations, etc.
BGSU once again went 2-1 in a three-game tournament, this time defeating Loyola-Chicago and Wright State, while losing to Texas A&M, in the 2023 Hampton Inn Invitational at the Stroh Center.
With the Falcons now 4-2, it’s interesting to see now how all the other teams fared in their respective seasons so far.

NOTABLE MAC STORYLINES:
The Buffalo Bulls and Western Michigan Broncos are atop the MAC East and West Divisions respectively, both still undefeated. The Bulls (6-0), are coming off a weekend in which they defeated DePaul (3-0), Montana (3-1), and Binghamton (3-0), at home. Meanwhile, the Broncos (7-0), are continuing to pile up the wins, as over the past week, they have defeated Michigan in Ann Arbor (3-0), while in Chicago, they topped Alabama-Birmingham (3-0), University of Illinois-Chicago (3-1), and SIU-Edwardsville (3-1).
The MAC East and West awards are out for the week, and BGSU’s own Alex Laboy took home the MAC East Defensive Player of the Week honors. The senior libero from Avon, Ohio recorded her first career double-double in Thursday’s win over Loyola-Chicago (19 digs, 11 assists), while also putting up the only 20+ dig performance of the year for the orange and brown on Saturday versus Wright State (23).
The rest of the awards are as follows:

West Offensive Player of the Week: Keona Salesman, Western Michigan, Outsider Hitter
West Defensive Player of the Week: Abby Olin, Central Michigan, Middle Blocker
