BGSU softball (15-30, 7-14 MAC) fell to Central Michigan (23-19, 15-5 MAC) in a Sunday afternoon game with the final score of 6-4.
With the loss to Central Michigan, the Falcons losing streak extends to five games, and they fall to 9th place in the Mid-American Conference (MAC).
The Falcon’s offense started the game strong, with Ava McKee driving in the first run of the game in the first inning.
Kendall Mathews kept the scoring going in the first with a triple to right field that drove home two Falcons.
In the third, Cameron Kaufman drove another Falcon home with a single to left field.
The fifth inning would prove to be the turning point for Central Michigan as they scored all six of their runs in that inning.
It started with Carly Sleeman, who reached on a dropped infield fly ball. Scoring two Central Michigan players.
London Williams was up next and singled up the middle to get an RBI single and bring Central Michigan within one run.
The Falcon’s defense was able to get their first out as Allyssa Hollo grounded out to first but was still able to drive in a run.
Williams was able to give Central Michigan the lead as a wild pitch scored the runner from third.
Central Michigan was able to extend its lead with a Rachel Cario single to left field.
The Falcons are back in action on Friday, April 25, at 3:00 p.m., as they travel to Toledo to face the Rockets, followed up by a doubleheader against Toledo on Saturday, April 26, with a 1:00 p.m. start time.
