Former BGSU right-handed pitcher Landon Willeman signed with the Evansville Otters of the Frontier League on Tuesday, according to the league’s transactions.
Willeman is the first BGSU player from the 2025 roster to sign with a professional team.
Willeman pitched in four seasons for the Falcons, tallying a 7-7 record, one save and a 6.03 earned run average (ERA) across 56 appearances and 23 starts. He struck out 136 batters and walked 77 in 147.2 career innings pitched while holding opponents to a .266 batting average.
The Napoleon, Ohio, native was the Sunday starter for the Orange and Brown during the 2025 season, finishing his senior campaign with a 1-2 record and 5.02 ERA in 14 appearances and 12 starts.
The Otters are the oldest current team in the Frontier League, having been a member since their founding in 1995. The Otters play at Bosse Field in Evansville, Indiana, which is the third oldest professional ballpark in America, originally opening in 1915.
