A man from Walbridge, Ohio was arrested early Sunday morning following the stabbing of a Bowling Green resident outside of Taco Bell.
Carl Michal Braden, 21, was arrested for felonious assault following the stabbing of Rory Sheeks, 23, outside of Taco Bell that occurred at 2:18 a.m., said Maj. Tony Hetrick, deputy chief of the Bowling Green Police Division.
After obscene remarks were exchanged in the restaurant, a fight broke out in the parking lot where Sheeks later joined in and was stabbed once in the abdomen and three times in the back by Braden, Hetrick said.
Braden fled the scene on foot and Sheeks was transported to the Wood County Hospital and later Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center in Toledo.
Sheeks is still being treated in Toledo and is in serious condition, said a hospital operator.
Police sent out photos of Braden to businesses in the area and dispatched K-9 units to help in the search, Hetrick said.
An employee from Meijer informed police that Braden had entered the store and police arrested him without incident around 5 a.m., Hetrick said.
Braden was lodged in the Wood County Justice Center and had a video arraignment with the Bowling Green Municipal court at 8:30 a.m. on Monday, according to the court docket.
Braden’s bond was posted and he was released from jail at 2:14 p.m. on Monday, according to Wood County Sheriff’s Office officials.
He is scheduled for a preliminary hearing at the court April 8 at 9 a.m.
