As of 6 p.m., Bowling Green Police unblocked the area on North Enterprise Street where a possible bomb was located.
A robot from the Northwest Ohio Bomb Squad disarmed a 2-liter bottle with a possible bomb in it within the 500 block of N. Enterprise St. at about 5:18 p.m., said Sgt. Jason Stanley of the Bowling Green Police Division.
A popping noise could be heard at the time the bottle was disarmed. Police are currently investigating the scene and there is nothing indicating that there are multiple devices, said Lt. Dan Mancuso.
The 2-liter bottle had different attachments and was found in the street Stanley said.
Police evacuated some residents in the vicinity while others were advised to stay inside, said dispatcher Ellen Wilson.
The police received a call about the package at 2:15 p.m. today and have been investigating since, blocking off the road around the area, Wilson said.
The investigation is still ongoing, she said.
Evidence from the incident will be processed by police today and then sent to the Bureau of Criminal Investigations for further processing, Stanley said.
After being evacuated, some residents are currently at St. Thomas Moore Catholic Parish on Thurstin Street.
The location of the package is .25 miles from the BGSU Student Union.
