Coming off the team’s first MAC series win of the season, the BG baseball team will travel to Ann Arbor on Tuesday for a non-conference matchup against the Michigan Wolverines.
The Wolverines may be in the NCAA Final Four, but the school’s baseball team has seen far less success. Michigan has a 11-14 record following a series loss to Minnesota at home.
Freshman LHP Brett Fitzwater will start for the Falcons in his third start of the season. In three appearances this season including two starts, the southpaw has given up eight earned runs in nearly nine innings pitched, including 13 hits. He’s also walked four batters along with striking out nine batters.
Michigan will trot out Ben Ballantine for the start, who’s appeared in just one game for the Wolverines. In that game, he pitched three and two-thirds scoreless innings, giving up a lone hit and striking out three.
BG is 6-16 so far this season including a 2-4 record in the Mid-American Conference.
Tuesday’s first pitch is scheduled for 4:05 p.m.
