University freezes tuition for next academic year

The University announced a tuition freeze today for the 2014-15 academic school year.

Tuition, room and board and general fees will not increase next fall, said Dave Kielmeyer, University spokesperson.

“Our goal is to keep the lid on tuition costs,” Kielmeyer said. “We want to make a BGSU education as affordable as possible while maintaining a high quality education.”

This means in-state tuition and fees will remain $10,606 and out-of-state will stay $17,914 for undergraduate students, according to a University press release.

The freeze also affects Firelands students, where in-state undergraduate students will pay $4,930 for tuition and general fees.

Graduate students from Ohio will also still pay $11,678, while non-residents will continue to pay $18,986.

“College affordability is an important issue nationally and right here at BGSU,” said University President Mary Ellen Mazey.
