The Bowling Green tennis team will be on the road this weekend with two back-to-back conference games.
The Falcons will travel to Toledo today to take on the University of Toledo, Ohio before going to Ypsilanti, Mich. to face Eastern Michigan University.
Both matches are set to begin at 1:00 p.m. The Falcons are coming off a victory on Saturday against Western Michigan University in which they trailed most of day but they rallied and won each of the final three singles matches. Nikki Chiricosta broke the school record for doubles victories which was previously set by her sister Christine Chiricosta. Chiricosta and Brozovich then won their singles matches. Nikki Chiricosta’s singles win broke the record for career wins at BGSU now with 179 wins another record that was set by her sister Christine Chiricosta when she recorded 178 wins when she played for BG from 2008-2011.
With the win the Falcons improved to 6-4 on the season and 1-0 in the conference. The first match of the back to back conference game will be against the University of Toledo. The Rockets are coming off a conference loss to Buffalo after winning seven straight matches. With the loss the Rockets now sit at 10-4 overall and 1-1 in the conference.
The second match of the back the back will be in Michigan against Eastern Michigan. The Eagles are coming off two victories, both victories were against conference foes Buffalo in which they won by a score of 4-3 and Akron in who they defeated 6-1. Nino Mebuke and Klara Supejova stood out for the Eagles as they were a big reason as to why the Eagles started MAC play undefeated. The duo was so dynamic that they were named the Mid-American Conference Doubles Team of the Week. Eastern improved to 9-6 overall and 2-0 in the conference.
The Falcons look to take the momentum that they gained last weekend to help spur them to victory against Eastern Michigan and Toledo this weekend as they continue conference play.
