Falcons to host Michigan in women’s WNIT

With a 76-65 win over St. Bonaventure Monday night, the Falcons advance to the Sweet Sixteen of the Women’s National Invitation Tournament.

The Falcons improved their record to 29-4 this season and now have a 15-0 effort on the season at the Stroh Center. St. Bonaventure finishes their season with a 24-11 record overall.

BG jumped out to a quick 9-0 lead that blossomed throughout the half as the Bonnies faced a mid-half scoring drought. The Falcons went into halftime with a 36-15 lead that kept them ahead when St. Bonaventure made a second-half surge, creeping closer to the Falcons’ lead. However, the Bonnies’ effort was not enough and the Falcons walked away with the victory.

The Falcons will now host the University of Michigan in a home game at the Stroh Center on Thursday at 7 p.m. in a rematch between the teams from earlier this season in which BG won.
