National Library Week will be April 13 through 19, and the Jerome Library has several activities planned to celebrate.
The goal of the activities is “to promote awareness about library resources and the work the library staff does,” said Kari Johnson, manager of administrative services at the library.
On Monday, people had the opportunity to take “sleeveface selfies” in the Music Library with record sleeves.
There will be free Dunkin’ Donuts available Tuesday at 11 a.m.
Also on Tuesday, the Curriculum Resource Center will have laminated speech bubbles available to write on. People can write responses to prompts such as “The library helps me…”
On Wednesday, there will be an egg hunt at 8 a.m. There will be eggs with candy hidden in the library and some Starbucks gift cards will be raffled off.
For people interested in preserving their digital photos, there will be a presentation on how to do so at 12 p.m. on Thursday in the Pallister Conference Room.
At 3:30 p.m. on Thursday, the Friends of the University Libraries event Authors and Artists will recognize the scholarly and artistic achievements of University faculty and staff.
Authors and Artists has been an annual event in celebrating National Library Week, Johnson said. Other events change yearly with the goal of highlighting as many areas of the library as possible.
Week long events include a selfie contest and CRC staff roaming the library on “prize patrol”.
