Classes will be canceled on Tuesday, Jan. 28, but University operations will still be open for students’ use.
“[We want to] keep services open such as dining and shuttles,” said Dave Kielmeyer, University spokesperson.
President Mazey makes the final decision to cancel classes with the help of the University police chief and other law enforcement, Kielmeyer said.
The announcement was made at 9 p.m. through email and BG Alert.
Usually the city would have to be under a level 3 snow emergency for classes to be canceled, however, because of the extreme temperature and wind chill, the decision was made to cancel, Kielmeyer said.
