Students lined up outside of the new Pub 1910 for its grand opening on March 14 to get the first taste of new campus cuisine. 

This pub-style restaurant is replacing the Black Swamp Pub & Bistro, which was previously housed in the new Starbucks location. After moving some things around, Pub 1910 made its grand debut with student support.

Magdy AbouZied, Director of Operations for BGSU Dining, said the student turnout reiterated the support and trust they hold in one another. 

“It tells me our students are following up with what we are doing here and they trust us with providing them the food service,” AbouZied said.

The Pub accepts Falcon Dollars, BG1 bucks and U.S. currency, cash or card. They have something for everyone with shareables, entrees, sandwiches, salads and more. 

They offer a variety of beverages too, including the Buckeye Beer Premium Pilsner — Maumee Bay Brewing and Crunchy Hippie Brown Ale — Earnest Brew Works. 

Prices range from $3 for grilled asparagus to $25 for steak and fries. They also have affordable sweets, like Cinnamon Scone and Vanilla Ice Cream for $4, DBC- Chocolate Mousse with Fudge Brownie Bites for $5 and Everything Coconut Cake for $4.25.

“We’ve been waiting to open the Pub. We were delayed because of the fact that the furniture was coming from overseas but it’s an exciting moment. It’s a new service for our students, new options for them to use their Falcon Dollars and BG1,” AbouZied said. “We are excited, we have the executive chef back there in the kitchen, the cooks are ready to roll and provide all the students with great service and great food.”
