BGSU, St. Baldrick’s Foundation host Annual Shave-a-Thon

Come out and join BGSU and St. Baldrick’s Foundation to have some fun — and be a hero for kids with cancer! St. Baldrick’s Foundation is hosting their annual Shave-A-Thon event. There will be games and raffle prizes. The event will take place on Sunday, Feb 27, 2022. The Shave-a-Thon will be hosted in the multipurpose room of the Bowen Thompson Student Union at BGSU and on Instagram Live from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Want to get involved but don’t want to shave your head or cut a ponytail? You can donate to the foundation and volunteer at the event. “Our goal is to raise a total of $8,000 or to go past that amount,” said Anna Gregory, director of the BGSU St. Baldrick’s Foundation. You can head to the website below to receive more information on how to donate or volunteer.

About St. Baldrick’s Foundation

Every 2 minutes, a child somewhere in the world is diagnosed with cancer. In the U.S., 1 in 5 will not survive. The St. Baldrick’s Foundation, the largest non-government funder of childhood cancer research grants, is on a mission to give kids a lifetime by supporting the most promising research to find cures and better treatments for all childhood cancers. When you give to St. Baldrick’s, you don’t just give to one hospital – you support virtually every institution with the expertise to treat kids with cancer across the U.S. St. Baldrick’s ensures that children fighting cancer now — and those diagnosed in the future — will have access to the most cutting-edge treatment, by supporting every stage of research, from new ideas in the lab to the development of new therapies, to lifesaving clinical trials.
