The Bowling Green men’s basketball team’s defense has kept them in games all season long.

Their defense couldn’t stop Ball State Saturday on the road, but their offense pushed them to a 79-65 win.

The win pushes the Falcons to 17-6 and 9-3 in Mid-American Conference play, putting them in sole position of first place with six games to play.

The Falcons shot 50.9 percent [27-of-53] for the game overall, including going 12-of-27 [44.4 percent] from behind the three-point line, while Ball State shot 53.5 percent [23-of-43] overall and 10-of-23 [50 percent] from behind the three point arc for the game.

However, the difference was the turnovers, as the Falcons had five turnovers and forced the Cardinals into 16 over the 40 minutes of play.

The Falcons will look to keep their run going as they host Miami, Wednesday at 7 p.m.
