Clay Club to host spring ceramics sale this week
The University’s Clay Club will host its spring ceramics sale in the ceramics department of the Fine Arts Center.
The sale will take place from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday and Friday and anyone is welcome to purchase pottery.
City construction causes road closures
Multiple temporary road closures will occur throughout the city this week, according to the City of Bowling Green’s website.
Milling of the pavement on East Gypsy Lane Road began Tuesday. Traffic will be maintained with temporary closures in the area throughout the process.
Final surface paving on East Gypsy Lane Road will begin Thursday and Friday, with intermittent road closures occurring at the intersections of Klotz Road and East Gypsy Lane, as well as Campbell Hill Road and East Gypsy Lane. Other portions of the road will also close temporarily.
North Prospect Street will close from Poe Road to Frazee Avenue on Wednesday from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.
During the closure, a water meter pit will be relocated.
Efficiency Smart to distribute free light bulbs for city’s Earth Day
Efficiency Smart, in partnership with Bowling Green Municipal Utilities, will be giving away free compact fluorescent light bulbs Thursday at Main Street Ace Hardware.
The event, in honor of the third annual Bowling Green Community Earth Day, will take place from noon to 4 p.m.
Only electric customers of Bowling Green Municipal Utilities and other municipal electric systems that participate in Efficiency Smart are eligible to participate. They must bring a copy of a utility bill for eligibility verification.
In addition, those interested in obtaining up to three free CFL light bulbs must bring up to three incandescent light bulbs to exchange.
Main Street Ace Hardware is located at 136 S. Main Street.
