BGSU student found dead in Enclave on Sunday evening

BGSU senior Thomas Cline, 23, was found unresponsive by one of his roommates Sunday evening, according to city police.

The roommate called 911 from the Enclave and police responded, said Sergeant Mark McDonough with the Bowling Green Police Division.

After police arrived at the scene they confirmed Cline’s death at 6:34 p.m., McDonough said.

An autopsy is currently scheduled at the Lucas County Coroner’s Office, he said. Cause of death is yet to be determined and police are currently investigating.

Cline, a Mansfield native, was majoring in health care administration and is the third student death this academic year.

“This comes as a great shock to us all, and we join his family and friends in their sorrow,” said BGSU President Mary Ellen Mazey in an email to the campus community sent just after 3 p.m. today.

Grief counseling is available from the BGSU Counseling Center, according to the email. It is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday to Friday, with walk-in hours from 1:30-4 p.m. The center can be reached at 419-372-2081.
