Students participating in this semester’s GeoJourney received an email from Provost Rodney Rogers on Tuesday afternoon detailing a change in staffing for the remainder of their session.
Ian Rodgers, assistant director of GeoJourney, was reassigned to a different staff position at the University, said Chief Communications Officer Robin Gerrow. As of Tuesday, Gerrow could not provide the reason as to why Rodgers was reassigned.
GeoJourney is a nine-week trip and program through which students can obtain class credit by participating in a number of outdoor activities and research options, according to the program’s website.
Charles Onasch, director of the School of Earth and Environmental Sciences and Jerome Gabriel, assistant director of Outdoor Programs for Recreation and Wellness, will join the students in place of Rodgers, as stated in the email.
Despite the change in staffing, students participating in GeoJourney will still be able to finish out this current session of the program, as stated in the email.
