Sports Brief: Women’s soccer hosts Central Michigan in final regular season game

The BG women’s soccer team finishes its regular season Thursday at 3 p.m. with a home match against Central Michigan.

At 8-2 (12-5-1 overall) the Chippewas enter the game as the leader of the Mid-American Conference West division. They hold a one-game lead on Eastern Michigan for the division lead.

The Falcons have not won since Aug. 26 against IUPUI and are 1-16-1 (0-9-1 MAC) on the season.

Forward Sidney Huth leads the Falcons in scoring this season, with three goals and an assist for seven points in 18 games.

The game will also be senior day for the Falcons. There are four seniors — goalkeeper Becca Ison, midfielder Leah Johnson, defender Emily Rothwell and midfielder Sarah VonderBrink — on the Falcons’ roster.
