The Coalition for Undergraduate Student Government Reform took the next step in their stance to get students’ voices heard when they collected 1,262 signatures during Wednesday’s rally. ‘ ‘ ‘ ‘ ‘ ‘ ‘ The amount of signatures nearly doubled the required amount of 5 percent necessary to have a referendum on whether students should pay a $60 fee in 2011 to help fund the Stroh Center. ‘ ‘ ‘ ‘ ‘ ‘ ‘ As long as USG does not find anything wrong with the petition as in duplicate names or incorrect identification numbers, USG will put the issue to a vote within 15 academic days. ‘ ‘ ‘ ‘ ‘ ‘ ‘ USG Chief Administrator Brandon Sallad is happy students rallied around an effort they felt strong about in such a short amount of time. ‘ ‘ ‘ ‘ ‘ ‘ ‘ ‘I was actually surprised they got all these names in 12 hours. They want the students’ voices heard,’ he said.
