With the new addition of snow greeting us in the morning, gift giving season is rapidly approaching. With that comes the stress of finding the perfect present, which lines up perfectly with the stress of studying for finals and finishing class projects. Especially for students having their first year on campus, there’s also the struggle of finding places to get gifts, unless they choose to shower their loved ones with presents from Falcon Outfitters. Nevertheless, there are a variety of businesses to choose from to find the perfect gift for anyone.
For Keeps Gifts
Conveniently located at 144 S Main St., For Keeps Gifts has an assortment of items perfect for specific holidays and winter in general. From fleece pajamas to stitched plaid ponchos, there are ways to defeat the cold and the brutal Bowling Green winds. There are also decorations to bring the comfort of wintertime home or back to the dorm, including lighted glitter lanterns, snow globes, figurines and candles (do not bring these back to the dorms). For the perfect holiday meal or snack, there’s hot chocolate sets, seasonal serving dishes and dip mixes. Then, after the meal, there’s games and crafts to wind down the evening for all ages.
Franklin Park Mall
If you’re looking for the perfect place to knock out all your shopping, consider visiting Franklin Park Mall at 5001 Monroe St., Toledo. While it is a half hour away, it’s almost hard to believe how many stores are inside, offering plenty of gift opportunities for just about anyone you can think of. From clothes to shoes to games to toys to candies, you’re bound to cross a lot off your holiday shopping list. In addition, on their website, you can find holiday deals from various stores that are consistently updated and listed. There are also holiday events including Santa pictures, with options for sensory-friendly dates and pet pictures with Santa, and a toy-a-thon. More information for additional events and deals are available on their website.
Finders Records
Let’s face it: everyone likes music. Luckily, Finders Records at 128 N Main St. has something for even the most obscure music tastes. With every time period and genre all in one place, you’re sure to stumble upon one of your loved one’s favorites. As a bonus, if you completely forget every single one of your friend’s favorite artists and genres, there’s plenty of holiday music available in vinyl and CD form. If you’re really stuck, there are also t-shirts available and joke candles featuring a multitude of celebrities. There are a lot of options at Finders Records, but the whole store is clearly labeled and organized alphabetically and by genre and format (CD and vinyl).
Amy’s Hallmark Store
A simple 20 minute drive to Amy’s Hallmark Store at The Shops at Fallen Timbers will help satisfy a whole list of gift needs. There are plenty of holiday decorations, and the variety makes sure there is something to fit everyone’s taste. This includes home décor for all areas as well as ornaments that can be personalized. Then once you find the perfect gift, you can also find the perfect wrapping paper or gift bag with your loved one’s favorite characters and colors. Of course, Hallmark is also known for its cards which can add a personal touch to the gift. If you run out of ideas, their website even has an “Ideas & Inspiration” tab!
