As the regular season draws to an end, the Falcon men’s basketball team’s end of the season schedule is not easy. On Friday, the team took on and lost to the top team in the MAC, the Buffalo Bulls, by a score of 95-82.
“Buffalo is a very good team, and they were able to withstand our runs, and they were able to make plays,” Falcons coach Michael Huger said.
Once again as the Falcons have been doing recently, they went into the locker room at halftime, looking at a double digit deficit on the scoreboard. Unlike the previous few games, the Falcons were not able to mount a comeback in this one.
The Falcons were able to bring their deficit to just three points at one time in the second half, but by that time there was not enough gas left in their tanks to bring the comeback to fruition.
One reason the Bulls got out to such a big lead was their three point shooting where they shot an absurd .600 percent on 12 of 20.
For the Falcons it was freshman guard Justin Turner leading the way as he scored 23 points as well as three boards, one assist and one block. If Turner can score a total of 26 points combined in the next three games he will break the Bowling Green freshman scoring record.
Falcons junior forward Demajeo Wiggins had 13 points and 15 rebound in this one for his 12th double-double of the campaign.
Wiggins teammate in the post, Derek Koch, had 12 points, nine rebounds, two assists, and one block.
The Falcons next game will be on Tuesday, at home, against the Akron Zips.
