There is a reason why Joe Bonamassa?s release So, It?s Like That was #1 on the Billboard Blues Chart.
This reason is the direct result of his strong vocals back-dropped by the authentic rock-out of amazing guitar licks. You also know that you?ve got something when CNN?s own Diane Sawyer profiled him.
For the first single ?My Mistake? Bonamassa mixes electric and acoustic guitar rifts that blend into a sensation of an all-encompassing sound. His lyrics and musical composition are only parts of this blending; his voice is the last configuration to add to this sound. He has a raspy, relaxing and sensual voice that only adds to the rifts. He has become a music phoneme in the way blues is percieved. He has taken this new age sense of popular music and mixed it with the old school blues of the past, like BB King whom he will be touring with creating his own style. The CD strikes a chord amongst listeners of all types of musical backgrounds. I personally have not listened to a blues CD in a long time, and it?s refreshing to hear something that brings in such heart and uplift. An added bonus is that the CD release also includes a DVD of his live show, A New Day Yesterday.
