The BGSU Cheer and Dance team competed and won two silver medals early January. The team competed in the UCA College Nationals at Walt Disney’s Wide World of Sports located in Orlando, according to a press release from BGSU.

The BGSU coed dance and cheerleading team was able to bring home a second-place medal in the Small Coed Division 1A, by scoring a fraction of a point below Florida State University.

The small coed team was made up of 20 members on the mat with seven alternates, according to a press release from BGSU.

“The moment we hit the floor, I felt nothing but pride and love for my university, my coaches and, most importantly, my teammates,” said BGSU cheerleader Daniel Dimitroff.

The second silver medal was earned by the all-girls gameday team, which has 29 members that showed off their fight song and sideline routines.

“For my first year as the head coach of the program, I am beyond excited with our performances on the national stage,” Head Coach Tyler Bill said. “I would give anything to relieve this whole season again with the program. They will forever hold a special place in my heart. Ay Ziggy! Wings Out!”
