Culver’s is set to hold a ribbon-cutting event on May 1 at 8:30 a.m. on West Gypsy Lane Road.

This is the third location within the ownership group, with two previous openings in Holland in 2001 and Perrysburg in 2022.

Dan Schwinefus and Ben Galaviz, owners of Culver’s in Bowling Green, moved from Wisconsin to follow their dreams of owning their own business in the restaurant industry. Galaviz and Schwinefus bring the heritage of Culver’s as a Wisconsin-based restaurant to the newest location in Bowling Green.

Schwinefus already feels comfortable in the community, commenting that “it just feels like home here.”

He enjoys the hometown feel and is committed to serving the people through community engagement, clean and respectable facilities and freshly cooked products.

Schwinefus aims to engage the community in partnering with local organizations looking for donations.

Schwinefus hopes to work together with organization volunteers, allowing them to give food to guests and take care of the dining room in a joint effort to serve the community. During that time, the partner organization would receive a check from 5% to 10% of the sales made that night.

In busier times and the first few weeks of opening, Schwinefus mentions that the food may take from five to 15 minutes longer than usual to be cooked to order.

However, Culver’s remains committed to its goal of four to five-minute cook times and an open environment.

Even though Culver’s is a fast-food restaurant, Schwinefus emphasizes the importance of providing a clean, efficient, and comfortable experience for guests to enjoy themselves from the start.

It is an environment where people can come in and play cards or enjoy conversations while sitting in the dining room for a few hours at a time if they so choose, enjoying our incredible variety of products,” Schwinefus said. “The most exciting part about the grand opening is seeing the excitement on everybody’s face. It’s the fact of seeing a group of people come together to make this project a success.
