BGSU Football Legend has shot at Immortality
June 13, 2023
Former BGSU football standout Andre Young (1979-82) has been given a chance to live on forever as a member of the College Football Hall of Fame, the National Football Foundation (NFF) announced on June 5.
Young is one of 101 names on the Divisional Ballot, which includes players from DII, DIII, and NAIA schools, and includes players like Chadron State RB Danny Woodhead, Marshall WR/KR Randy Moss, Coe College RB Fred Jackson, and UCONN LB John Dorsey.
Across four seasons with the Falcons, Young lettered in every single one. He earned first team All-MAC and Kodak Division I-AA All American honors in 1982 after putting together a season with 78 tackles (26 for loss) and 13 sacks.
NFF membership voting ends on June 30, and the results will be sent to the NFF’s Honors Court to select the official 2024 Hall of Fame Class.
