The Bowling Green State University Volleyball program announced Tuesday evening that two-time Mid-American Conference (MAC) Player of the Year Petra Indrova, will miss the entirety of the 2023 season. Indrova suffered a lower extremity injury in just the second practice of the season. Indrova was set to return to the Falcons program due to an extra year of eligibility created by the COVID-19 Pandemic.
Indrova, a Czech Republic native, ranks highly amongst BGSU Volleyball history in numerous different categories leading to back-to-back MAC Player of the Year awards and two AVCA Honorable Mention All-American awards.

“We all are heartbroken for Petra, who has done and means so much for our program,” said head volleyball coach Danijela Tomic. “She is respected and beloved by so many in the Falcon community. Even though her role on the team has changed due to the unfortunate season-ending injury, it will still be impactful and vital to us. Petra will continue to write her legacy as she continues to be a leader and inspiration to all.
Our team is ready and prepared to face this adversity, through which we will grow and become an even more resilient and grittier team. Our focus and foremost priority is to provide Petra with the best possible care and support as she begins her recovery journey. We are confident that with the help of our medical team, Petra’s determination and resilience, we will see her recover fully and thrive in the next chapters of her life.”
