Bowling Green women’s soccer started a two match road trip on Thursday night as they took on the Detroit Mercy Titans.
Once again, for the second consecutive game, the Falcons got the scoring started early. Lacee Bethea scored the early goal off of a ricochet shot from Maya Dean that was blocked by a defender.
The Titans didn’t take long to answer as Karsen Murray hit a long ball from over 30 yards out to even the score 1-1 just 16 minutes in.
Early in the second half, it was Ellie Pool who found the net for what would be the final goal of the contest earning Bowling Green a 2-1 victory. For Pool, it was her third goal as a Falcon, two of the three being game-winning goals.
The Falcons used 21 different players over the course of Thursday’s contest. Freshman, Lizzie Bultynck made her first collegiate start.
Next up for Bowling Green is the second match of the road trip on Sunday, Sept. 3, against the nationally ranked Pittsburgh Panthers. Kickoff is slated for 4 p.m. EST and the match can be seen on ESPN+.
