Bowling Green women’s soccer travelled to Oxford, Ohio, on Thursday night to take on the Miami RedHawks. Prior to the match Bowling Green found themselves atop the conference standings just four games into Mid-American Conference (MAC) play.
Lexi Czerwien got the scoring started for Bowling Green just six minutes into the game. Czerwien has now scored her first and second collegiate goal in back-to-back matches.
Miami was able to fire right back with 19 minutes off the board as Morhea Hoefen made it a 1-1 game.
The Falcons would fire back twice more during the first half with goals from Ellie Pool and Katie Cox. Although the RedHawks would score again, three Bowling Green goals proved too tough to overcome.
With the win Bowling Green remains undefeated with a 4-0-1 record in MAC play and they hold their spot at the top of the conference standings.
Next up for the Falcon will be the Eastern Michigan Eagles at Cochrane Stadium on Sunday, October 8, with kickoff set for 1:00 p.m. EST.
