Bowling Green Football is heading into the second half of the season as they enter week seven of the season against the Buffalo Bulls.
The Bulls enter this game fresh off of a dominating win over Central Michigan 37-13.
Here are your Falcon Four players to watch for Buffalo.
- Safety Devin Grant (#23) Devin Grant just came off the best game of his career this past week versus Central Michigan. Grant snagged three interceptions, two of which were returned for touchdowns. His performance earned him national player of the week in all of FBS. Those three interceptions flew him to the top of the leaderboards, and now, he leads the Mid-American Conference in interceptions with four. He’s a force to be reckoned with if you throw it his way and will be a nightmare for the Bowling Green offense if he continues to put up stellar numbers.
- Quarterback Cole Snyder (#15) Cole Snyder is a transfer from Rutgers who started all 13 games a year ago for the Bulls. Since his arrival, he is only one of three Buffalo quarterbacks to throw for 3,000 yards in a single season and this year, he’s picking up right where he left off. He is currently leading the MAC in passing yards with 1,307 and is only one behind the leader in touchdowns. He averages 224.7 yards per game. That number is only going to continue to rise as he and his offense are continuing to heat up as they are now on a two-game win streak and show no signs of slowing down.
- Linebacker Joe Andreessen (#12) Joe Andreessen has been all over opposing teams offenses recording 25 total tackles for the Bulls this season which is a team high. Andreessen originally played for the Bryant Bulldogs for five seasons before coming to Buffalo this fall to compete with the Bulls for his sixth and final season. He may not have been with the program for very long, but he sure has made his impact on the field and continues to dominate for this defense that is rapidly becoming more and more efficient as the weeks go on.
- Punter Anthony Venneri (#94) Anthony Venneri is a special teams machine for the Bulls this season. Venneri has recorded 31 punts this season averaging 45.1 per punt and a 64-yard punt being his longest. Venneri was a walk-on a season ago before earning himself the starting position and ever since then, he’s never looked back. With those numbers, it earns him third in all of the MAC statistically. He’s punted for over 1,360 yards this season and can pin your offense within the 20-yard line at any given moment. Venneri in week five earned MAC East Division Special Teams Player of the Week in his performance against Akron. Venneri can make your offense drive the ball farther than you had wanted and will drive you crazy.
Bowling Green looks to put themselves back into the win column this week as they face a tough Buffalo team.
In their meeting a year ago, Buffalo rolled past Bowling Green 38-7.
Bowling Green’s last win over Buffalo came in 2021 when the Falcons defeated the Bulls 56-44.
The Falcons look to repeat that type of performance this Saturday. Kickoff is set to be at 3:30.
