Last night, the Bowling Green gymnastics team fell to Ball State, granting the Cardinals their first Mid-American Conference win of the season. With a 196.600-193.200 score, the Falcons logged a season high score, but fell short on the balance beam.
Despite BGSU falling behind during the fourth rotation, freshman Nadia Parente became the only Falcon to place in any of the events, placing third on the beam with a 9.775 score. This is Parente’s highest score ever in the event and also the first top-three finish of her career.
Another successful individual was Kathryn Weilbacher, who placed fifth in the all-around and fifth on the bars with a 9.800 score.
Freshman Keira Thornton, who led the Falcons in the floor exercise, logged a career-high 9.800 and placed fifth in the event.
From here, Bowling Green continues their season on the road, facing the Western Michigan Broncos on Sunday, Jan. 28, starting at 1 p.m.
