Bowling Green defensive line and assistant head coach Julian Campenni has been named Rutgers’ defensive ends coach, sources told ESPN’s Pete Thamel.
The move comes hours after Kent State’s Colin Ferrell was hired by the school to be their defensive line coach.
Campenni had been the defensive line coach at Bowling Green since December 2018, recently having earned the titles of defensive run game coordinator in February 2022 and assistant head coach in February 2023.
He produced one of the top units in terms of sacks and against the run over the past few seasons and helped develop most notably former Falcon-turned-current Green Bay Packer Karl Brooks, who finished his career third all-time in sacks (26.5) at the school, and Cashius Howell, who was the first Falcon since B.T. Thomas in 2014 to lead the conference in sacks.
