Head coach Ty Eigner and the Bowling Green hockey team have clinched their first season series win of the ’23-24 season.
In a come-from-behind effort, the Falcons’ offense stood out, scoring three unanswered goals in the third to best Ferris State earlier Friday night, 4-3.
The third period was the definer for BG. They led the Bulldogs in shots 10-3, one leading to a goal by Quinn Emmerson, and two others to goals by Michael Bevilacqua and Adam Schankula, their first in the orange and brown.
Despite two goals in the first four minutes, Christian Stoever was outstanding, allowing only one goal in the other 56 minutes of the game and a perfect third period. He ended the night with 22 saves, three goals allowed, and his first conference win of the season.
With the Friday win, BG has won their first season series against Ferris State since conference formation. On Saturday, the Falcons look to complete their first series sweep of the year and take six points in the CCHA.
