At the Meyo Invitational last Friday and Saturday, The Bowling Green Falcons had high marks overall, with Jenna Lucas and Katherine Mendenhall as the sole representatives for the team throughout both Friday and Saturday.
Lucas placed 3rd at 3,634 points, making her personal best along with Mendenhall who placed 4th at 3,609 points. The highest place made by the team throughout the invitational was in the high jump, with Mendenhall reaching 5’8” and making 2nd. Mendenhall also placed 3rd in the 800m at 2:25.82.
Coach Reggie Trotter was pleased with their records, considering what they could do in the MAC this semester. “Overall Jenna had a 175-point PR in the pentathlon and Katie PR’d by 235 points,” said Trotter. “So anytime you can open up the year with that big of PR, you are in a good spot moving forward.”
Next week, the Falcons will continue to be indoors in Allendale, Michigan as they participate in the GVSU Big Meet on Friday, Feb. 9th and Saturday, Feb.10th.
