The BGSU volleyball team has released its finalized 2024 schedule.

BGSU Volleyball 2024 Non-Conference Schedule (BGSU Athletics)

The Falcons begin their season at home for the first time since the 2020-2021 season. They play their first games in the Hampton Inn Invitational in the Stroh Center, starting with Chicago State on Aug. 30, Illinois and Cincinnati the days following.

They follow the Hampton Inn Invitational with two similar away series.

In Dayton, they will compete in the Tru by Hilton Dayton Beavercreek Invitational starting on September 6th.

The weekend after, the Falcons will head west for the DePaul Tournament, playing the University of Illinois Chicago, Brown and DePaul. All three of their tournaments to start the year will occur on back-to-back-to-back weekends, guaranteeing nine games in the first three weeks

Their final non-conference games are, fittingly, Ohio State. The Buckeyes will travel to Bowling Green on Friday, Sept. 20, while the Falcons will head to Columbus on Sept. 22 for a two-game weekend.

Bowling Green is set to begin Mid-American Conference (MAC) competition on Sept. 27.

In conference play, BG will head to Muncie, Indiana, for a Ball State matchup. They will finish the regular season with Ohio University in the Stroh Center, both two-game series.

Between those bookends, the Falcons play four two-game weekend series, two away (Northern Illinois and Miami (OH)), and two home (Western Michigan and Kent State).

The Falcons have a stretch of tough individual Mid-American Conference (MAC) games, across two weeks playing Eastern Michigan, Central Michigan, Buffalo and Akron. Fans should mark the date on Nov. 5, as the Toledo Rockets come to the Stroh for the battle of I-75 and the second game of a season series.

Finishing 11-7 in the MAC in 2023, the Falcons have four opponents who finished last season with a better record. Such teams include Western Michigan (18-0), Buffalo (13-5), Ohio (13-5) and Ball State (13-5). In addition, the continued rivalry with Toledo (11-7) provides two more worrisome games for the Falcons.

Yet the resilience of the Falcons was astounding entering the MAC tournament, as they bested #3 Ball State and #2 Buffalo, losing to #1 Western Michigan in the championship after a two-set comeback.
