BGSU has released their long-awaited 2024 schedule nearly two months after the men’s team sent their matchups out to the public, but as they say, better late than never.
The Falcons will play both preseason games at home, starting with a matchup against the NAIA side of Goshen College on Aug. 4 and ending with a scrimmage against the Purdue Boilermakers on Aug. 10.
To kick off the regular season, the Falcons will play host to Detroit Mercy on Thursday, Aug. 15, followed by a game against the University of Findlay a week later.
The matchup against the Oilers marks the first regular-season game against a non-D1 opponent since 2015, when they beat Findlay 4-0.
Next up is a three-game road trip, where the Falcons will take on Duquesne for the first time in 20 years, as well as Loyola Chicago and Cleveland State, before coming home to face the Oakland Golden Grizzlies on Sept. 12.
Conference play will start with an exciting three-game stretch, facing off against Ball State in Muncie for the MAC opener, followed closely by the Battle of I-75 at Cochrane Stadium on Sept. 22 and a home matchup against the 2023 MAC champion Ohio Bobcats on Sept. 26th.
A heavyweight battle against Western Michigan will take place on Thursday, Oct. 10, in Kalamazoo. The Broncos managed the best record in the MAC in 2023, taking the one seed from the Falcons, who finished second last season.
Senior Night will feature a battle of the birds between the Falcons and the Eastern Michigan Eagles on Thursday, Oct. 24, where BG will look to earn their eighth straight win against the Ypsilanti side dating back to 2018.
The Falcons will conclude the season with two away games, first against Akron on Oct. 27 and lastly against the 2023 MAC tournament runner-up Kent State Golden Flashes on Thursday, Oct. 31.
2024 will mark the first season since 2020 that Bowling Green won’t face a team that was featured in the United Soccer Coaches final top 25 poll, giving them a great opportunity to improve on their 10-6-2 overall record from 2023.
