Bowling Green baseball alumni Rigo Ramos announced his commitment to Lipscomb University on Friday afternoon. Ramos was a veteran presence in his final season at Bowling Green, as he was one of only three Falcons that were present on the Falcon baseball team that was dissolved then brought back by alumni in 2020.
Ramos made 15 appearances in 2024 with 11 starts, which was second most on the team. He also led the team in strikeouts (58) while holding a (3-1) record against opponents. The Archbold native recorded five total seasons as a Falcon, finishing with a 5.59 earned run average (ERA) in 45 appearances with 32 starts, allowing a batting average of (.289).
The Lipscomb Bisons will add the BGSU grad transfer with the hopes of improving from their 2024 season, finishing sixth in the Atlantic Sun Conference (ASUN) with a record of (.500) and team ERA of (6.86).
The departure of Ramos marks a new era for BGSU baseball who are coming off a Mid-American Conference (MAC) Tournament bid as well as MAC regular season championship.
