Bowling Green running back Terion Stewart has had his name added to another pair of national award watch lists.
On August 5, he was named as one of two members of the Mid-American Conference to the Walter Camp Player of the Year Preseason Watch list, joining Northern Illinois’ Antario Brown.
The Walter Camp Player of the Year award is an award voted on by NCAA Division I FBS head coaches and sports information directors.
Last year the award was given to former Louisiana State and current Washington Commanders Heisman-winning quarterback Jayden Daniels.
On August 6, Stewart was one of four conference players to be named to the Doak Walker Award Preseason Watch List (Central Michigan’s Marion Lukes, NIU’s Brown, and Western Michigan’s Jalen Buckley).
Named after former Southern Methodist (SMU) halfback Ewell “Doak” Walker, the award is given to the nation’s top running back, as voted on by sportswriters, radio and television personalities, analysts, and former All-American and All-Pro players.
Last year the award was given to Oklahoma State star running back Ollie Gordon II after rushing for over 1,700 yards and 21 touchdowns on 6.1 yards per carry.
The recipients for both awards will be named at ESPN’s College Football Awards Show held on December 12, following cutdowns to 10 players in early November and to three in later November.
