When it comes to finding a five star recommendation, some people may check Yelp, but BGSU students and locals can turn to the “Best of BG.”
Students have the opportunity to vote every year for their favorite places in Bowling Green and rank them by category leaving us with an all encompassing list of the “Best of BG.”
With hundreds of participants every year for the past eight years, the Best of BG provides a student-focused ranking of local businesses, restaurants and stores. This year, there are 55 different categories.
Whether you consider yourself a townie or are new to the Bowling Green community, here are five of BG’s “bests” that students say you should look out for.
Best Coffee

This locally owned coffee shop is located on 174 S Main St., open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. seven days a week. For more information, you can check out their website.
Best Restaurant. Period.
Beckett’s
Becketts Burger Bar is located on 163 S Main St., Bowling Green. They are open from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Mondays and Tuesdays, 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. and Wednesdays and Thursdays. On the weekends they are open from 11 a.m. to midnight Fridays and Saturdays and 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sundays.
Best Off-Campus Study Spot

Best On-Campus Study
Jerome Library
BGSU’s Jerome Library is located on 1001 E Wooster St. and is open 8 a.m. to midnight Monday through Thursday, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Fridays and 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays.
Best Ice Cream or Frozen Treat
Eric’s Ice Cream
Eric’s Ice Cream is located on 215 E Wooster St., open seven days a week from noon to 10 p.m.
