Bowling Green running back Justin Pegues was named the Mid-American Conference (MAC) Special Teams Player of the Week, the conference announced Monday.
Pegues, a transfer from Tennessee Tech, totaled 123 kickoff return yards on two attempts, including a 100-yard return on the opening kick to set the tone for the Falcons’ 41-17 trouncing of FCS Fordham.
He also added 16 punt return yards on two return attempts and one carry for 10 yards.
His 100-yard return is the longest in program history, shattering the previous record of 96 yards.
Pegues and the Falcons are back in action on Saturday, Sept. 7 when they take on the Penn State Nittany Lions out in Happy Valley. Kickoff is slated for noon.
