The coaches of the Central Collegiate Hockey Association (CCHA) have released their 2024-25 Coaches Poll results.
Coaches in the CCHA picked Bowling Green to finish fifth in the conference this coming season, the same rank they achieved at the end of last year’s regular season. The Falcons received 50 ranking points, 23 behind the leader, and the highest team ranked to receive no first-place votes, indicating a tight race for the conference title.
St. Thomas, who recently announced their move to the NCHC in 2026, received the most polling points with 73 and tied for three first-place votes. The tie was with Bemidji State, who also tied with Michigan Tech for 69 polling points, with MTU also receiving two first-place votes.
Minnesota State earned the last first-place vote and scored nine more polling points than the Falcons’ 50. Lake Superior State and newly added Augustana tied for sixth with 46, Ferris State climbed out of the cellar to gain 28 and Northern Michigan took 26 polling points.
The media poll results were quite different.
Writers picked Bemidji State and St. Thomas to tie at 107 for first place, the tiebreaker going to the Beavers due to the 5-4 first-place votes.
Minnesota State inhabited the three seed, Michigan Tech the four and Bowling Green rounding out the top five. Lake Superior, Augustana, Northern Michigan and Ferris State rounded out the bottom.
