BGSU men’s soccer (8-1-1, 3-0-0) has three players who have earned Missouri Valley Conference (MVC) weekly awards for their performances last week.
Junior forward Trace Terry, for the second week in a row, has earned MVC Offensive Player of the Week after scoring two goals in BG’s 5-0 win over Eastern Illinois and another goal against Belmont in a 1-0 victory.
In Bowling Green’s 10 games this season, Terry has nine goals and an assist, including six goals in the past four games.
On the other side of the pitch, fifth-year goalkeeper Brendan Graves received this week’s MVC Defensive Player of the Week after back-to-back shutouts against EIU and Belmont. The Perrysburg native also made seven saves in both games and is tied for seventh in career wins with 24 in program history.
The third Falcon to collect some accolades is senior midfielder Alberto Anaya, who has been named as an honorable mention to the Top Drawer Soccer National Team of the Week.
Anaya tied the team record for assists in a game with four against Eastern Illinois and leads the team in the category overall with seven. He is tied for 13th in BG’s all-time career assists list with 21 total.
Bowling Green is off to its best start since 1995 and is off to a 3-0-0 start in conference play for the first time since 1996.
The Falcons are back in action on Saturday, traveling to face University of Illinois Chicago (UIC) for their fourth MVC game of the season. Kick-off is set for 8 p.m.
