BGSU football tight-end Harold Fannin Jr. earned Mid-American Conference (MAC) Offensive Player of the Week after his performance against Akron this past Saturday.
Wait again?
Yep, you’re reading this again for the third straight time this season.
In the Falcons 27-20 win over the Zips, Fannin Jr. caught nine passes for 135 yards and rushed twice for 37 yards, including the game-winning touchdown with 2:39 left in the game.
The junior is also on record watch as he is just 26 yards away from breaking the all-time tight end receiving yards record by a Bowling Green Falcon. Alex Bayer’s 1,543 yards stand in his way as Fannin has amounted to 1,517 in his three years here.
Fannin Jr. is also just three yards shy of breaking the single-season record for yards by a tight end in a Falcon uniform. Mark Dowdell owns the record with 679.
He is also fourth in all the county for receiving yards just behind TCU’s Max Bech, San Jose State’s Nick Nash, and Ole Miss’s Trevor Harris.
Be sure to be on the lookout this Saturday as Fannin Jr. and the Falcons battle the Northern Illinois Huskies. Kickoff is set for 3:30 p.m. at the Doyt.
