Fifth-year midfielder Lexi Czerwien earned her first career MAC Offensive Player of the Week award after a match against Northern Illinois that saw her earn three points in a crucial Falcon victory over the Huskies.
Czerwien followed up an assist on Emma Stransky’s first-half goal with a goal of her own to open the second half, giving BGSU a 2-1 lead that they would hold on to, earning the Falcons their third MAC win of the season.
The Rochester Hills native has scored three girls in her last four games, with one each against Toledo and Miami (OH), and she totals four goals and one assist, good for nine points on the year, the most of her career and the most of any Falcon player in 2024.
Watch for Czerwien to keep her hot streak going in BG’s matchup with the Western Michigan Broncos (6-1-5) in Kalamazoo on Thursday, Oct. 10 at 4 p.m.
