It was a cold, bitter night on Thursday at Cochrane Stadium, as the Bowling Green women’s soccer team took on Eastern Michigan.
Despite the hard fought efforts from both sides, the game ended in a 0-0 draw when things were all said and done. One positive that did come from this match was that this marked the 5th shutout game for the Falcons. Their last one was just a few short weeks ago where they traveled to Muncie, Indiana and won against Ball State 2-0.
The statstic gave head coach, Chris Fox, something to smile about.
“I appreciate you finding something positive,” Fox replied to the reporter. “It’s kind of a testament to us keeping the ball. Defensively we’ve got some big players out across the back line.”
Sophomore defender Taylor Green was very enthusiastic about the defensive shutout efforts from the Falcons.
“I feel like, as defenders we don’t usually get credit in hard-fought games. The shutouts mean a lot to us, ” Green said. “It just shows how good of a back line that we actually have.”
The Falcons will take this small gesture of positivity and the short time off to reset as they will travel to Akron to play the Zips at FirstEnergy Stadium, this Sunday at 1 p.m.
