In an announcement on X on Monday afternoon, the Mid-American Conference (MAC) and the Sun Belt Conference announced an extension of the MAC-Sun Belt challenge for the men’s and women’s basketball teams, extending the series through the 2026-27 season.
Both the BGSU men’s and women’s basketball teams open the season today against Southern Miss as a part of the MAC-SBC challenge.
The challenge features each MAC and Sun Belt team facing off against a team from the other conference two times each season.
Last season, the BGSU men’s team defeated Arkansas State before falling to Louisiana, while the women’s team lost to Texas Tech but defeated Troy.
